Remember the three R’s: reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic!  Remember those good ol’ days and how these three R’s were taught (according to that old song)…”taught to the tune of the hickory stick.” Yes, that aptly describes how some of us learned the discipline of study.

            September heralds the start of a new school year across our nation’s communities.  Summer’s respite hopefully finds us all refreshed and eager to once again pursue the exciting challenges that lay ahead.  True, the educational process challenges us in the three R’s: reading, ‘ritiing’ and ‘rithmetic.  But, here within the church these proverbial three R’s stand for REMEMBER, RESPOND, and REJOICE.
