As I write this, we are almost at the end of the Christian Year, the celebration of the Reign of Christ (or Christ the King Sunday).  As you read this, the new Christian year will have begun: the First Sunday of Advent was on 27 November.  Advent is the time of preparation for and anticipation of the Nativity of our Lord (Christmas Eve and Christmas).  Advent is marked by joy and excitement at what is to come.
