Our Beliefs
Lutheranism is a large portion of the Christian religion, involving over 82 million people. These people believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired "authority" of all teachings of faith and doctrine. It is God's Word!
We, as Lutherans, hold several doctrines as primary to our faith, but the most important one is justification. Justification, or salvation, is by God's grace alone, through faith (nothing else) for the sake of Christ's merit. We as sinners cannot do anything to fulfill God's justice. This includes all the "good works" that we, as sinful humans, can think of. We are saved only by His free gift of mercy. God loves us and doesn't want to see us perish. We receive this gift of salvation by faith alone. This involves a full and complete trust in God's promise to forgive and save. We believe that everyone who puts their trust in Jesus can be sure of their salvation.
Our worship is of a liturgical form. This is a patterned format using words (both spoken and sung) and actions to honor God. This form of worship is one where every worshiper takes part to listen to God's Word, to receive Holy Communion, to pray, to sing praises to God, and to offer yourself, your time and talents to the Lord.
This is a brief overview of the Lutheran Church. If you have questions concerning our faith, you may make an appointment with the pastor or talk to one of our members.
We invite you to attend Sunday School and learn more about the Bible and where our theological doctrines found their origins.
Mission Statement:
Our Mission is to be and to make disciples of Jesus Christ, rooted in the word of God, sharing God's love for all people.
